The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the Lancaster Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) increased 0.2 percentage points over the month to 4.9 percent in August. Seasonally adjusted total nonfarm jobs were up 0.1 percent (+300) over the month to 247,800 in August. Over the year, jobs were up 2.7 percent (+6,400) in the MSA, while statewide jobs increased 3.4 percent. Over the month, five of the ten supersectors were unchanged. Leisure & hospitality decreased 600 following larger than typical increases in June and July. Government had a seasonal increase of 400 from July. View the County Profile here.
