On April 5, 2022, local data was released for Lancaster County for period ending February 2022. Lancaster County continued is labor force participation recovery by adding an additional 1,200 workers, while contracting the unemployed (those looking for work or working less than their normal hours) as reflected in the 3.7% unemployment rate (down from 3.9% previous month).
While seasonally adjusted total nonfarm jobs in the Lancaster Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) were essentially unchanged over the month, over the year jobs were up 3.0 percent (+7,300). Over the year, nine of the ten supersectors added jobs with the largest increase in trade, transportation & utilities (+3,200).
