Lancaster: As a part of its continuing efforts to identify and empower Latino leaders in Lancaster County, the Lancaster County Latino Coordinating Committee invites interested parties to apply to participate in its "Latino Empowerment Project (LEP)." The Project was established in response to an 18-month study entitled, "Latinos in Lancaster County: Voices, Perspectives, Myths and Realities." For a schedule, click here and for an application, click here. Overall, the mission of this innovative project is to improve the leadership skills of prospective Latino leaders from all walks of life to take on or grow in their roles as leaders on the job, in their communities, and with their families. It is a simple concept with the potential for having a significant impact on the lives of selected participants. Thanks to a generous contribution from the Alcoa Foundation, the program is FREE! The program will run for 7 consecutive Saturdays from March 13 through April 24, 2010 at the offices of The Lancaster Chamber, 100 S. Queen St. in Lancaster. Topics include Understanding Cultural Patterns; Individual and Group Communication Skills; Resolving Conflicts in Groups; Getting Things Done; and Managing Time. Please share the attached brochure and application with interested individuals within your organization or circle of acquaintances. The application deadline is February 27, 2010 and space is limited.
