Lancaster: On January 29, 2010, the sixth annual Youth Career Summit, held at the Eden Resort Inn, brought educators and employers together to learn about the latest labor market information for Lancaster County and to discuss youth issues that cut across workforce development, education, and economic development. The meeting began with a presentation from Scott Sheely, Executive Director, who gave an overview of the county's economy, the top industries, and explained the career paths for those industries. Lisa Touchton, Program Director for Arbor Education and Training, presented the Youth Empowerment Award to Ariel Bradley for her dedication in employment, training, and education. Attendees then worked in small groups to discuss emerging themes across workforce development and education as well as upcoming events.
